She felt both amused and pitiful for the poor Belarusian boy trying to catch up with her half brother singing Christmas songs. However, the party members didn't care about Alfred's horrible singing and enjoy themselves.

Maddie glances at another pair with an unwanted additional. Leon pulls the uncomfortable Erika close to him as this guy tries to flirt with her. Erika politely declines the flirt, while Leon calmly tells him to leave. Which he did leave after an protective Yao and his girlfriend, Anya, showed up.

She sworn if that it was Basch, instead of Yao, then the guy would be running for the hills. She goes into deep thought, until someone spoke to her from behind.

"Enjoying the party?" Madeline almost squeaked out in surprise, but she knew the familiar cheerful voice.

"Ling, please don't do that." She shifts her attention to the amused Taiwanese girl.

"I'm sorry, but I can't help it." Ling rubs the back of her neck, while smiling nervously. However, Maddie could tell that her girlfriend enjoyed jump scarring her.

"It's fine." Madeline says with an sigh.

"Anyways, do you know what day is it? Besides, Christmas." Ling asks her, while hugging her.

"Our first anniversary." Maddie says as she smiles at Ling.

"Yes!" Ling beams in excitement.

Maddie remembered last year on Christmas. Ling confessed her feelings to her. They've known each other since their freshman year of high school and became inseparable. Their friendship lasted for about five years, until last year it changed into an another level.
